Alam's Story

Alam Bushara is a prime example of how the Gamma Kappa Legion of Honor Foundation helps deserving undergraduates. The son of Sudanese immigrants, Alam completed his core curriculum while attending community college and worked multiple jobs to accumulate the funds necessary to attend the University of Colorado.

During his early days in Boulder, Alam discovered the brotherhood and principles of Sigma Nu. Through his involvement with the chapter and his academic efforts, Alam received a grant from the Foundation that subsidized his rent and afforded him the opportunity to reside on the Gamma Kappa property. Living side-by-side with his brothers, Alam learned the lifelong commitments to personal and community development that epitomize a Sigma Nu.

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Alam continues to excel as a brother and a student. He made the Dean’s List three consecutive semesters, including a 4.0 GPA in back-to-back terms. In his latest endeavor, Alam is a founding member and CTO of the startup Groove Beverages. Young men like Alam are why the Gamma Kappa Legion of Honor Foundation was created. We look forward to seeing what the future brings for this accomplished young brother.
